Cordyeps is an extremely intriguing mushroom! Its most notably known for its unusual natural growth habits, where the spores actually infect and devour the pupal stage of certain species of caterpillar leading to the fruiting body actually growing out of their heads, leading to the creatures death. Due to the unique nature of its development, the Chinese have given it the name “winter worm summer grass,” and Traditional Chinese Medicine is where it was popularized.

Modern sciences have allowed us to produce the fruiting body of the Cordyceps mushroom from growing it out of an plant-based medium, often barley, making the mushroom much more ethical and available. We double extracted our vegan Cordyceps in ethanol and filtered water, and while it makes a wonderfully energizing adaptogen on its own, we like to enjoy it combined with our Lions Mane or Triple 1 extracts. Just add a dropperful to a little water or juice each day.
